DHS Proposes Eliminating 60-Day Grace Period for H-1B and Employment Visa Workers

The Department of Homeland Security has submitted a proposed rule to eliminate the 60-day grace period that allows certain employment-based nonimmigrant workers, including H-1B visa holders, to remain in the United States after their employment ends. If enacted, workers would be required to depart immediately upon job termination unless they find new employment or obtain status changes, significantly impacting foreign workers' transition options.
